Welcome, I'm Melissa Frederick, a certified mindfulness, meditation, and breathwork practitioner and the founder of Minds Matter with Melissa. My work is based in evidence-based practices, positive psychology, and lived experience.
My journey into mindfulness, breathwork and meditation began five years ago when I was searching for tools to overcome depression, anxiety, and addiction. Through consistent practice, I experienced profound shifts in my mental clarity, emotional resilience, and overall wellbeing.
My mission is to help you create a deeper awareness within yourself, the kind that reveals just how powerful you truly are as a human being. When we learn to witness our thoughts, feel our emotions with compassion, and understand the patterns that shape our lives, we unlock an inner strength that changes everything. Through this work, I help you reconnect with your innate wisdom, reclaim your personal power, and step into the fullest, most authentic version of yourself.
I was diagnosed at 15 with ADD, depression, and anxiety. For years, I relied on antidepressants, stimulants, and traditional therapy, but nothing truly addressed the deeper patterns in my mind and life. I struggled silently, trying to navigate a world that often felt overwhelming and confusing. I married my highschool sweetheart in 2005, gave birth to our first daughter in 2008, and second daughter in 2013.
Between 2014 and 2019, I lost myself in addiction and destructive habits, disconnected from my life and my family. By the end of 2019, my body forced me to wake up or face serious consequences. This moment of reckoning became the catalyst for a complete transformation.
In 2020, I discovered meditation, breathwork, and mindfulness. These practices, along with consistent commitment to self-growth, helped me break free from addiction and rebuild my life from the inside out. Now, I help others see that they have the power to change their own lives too.
My mission is to be a clear and compassionate lens through which others can reconnect with their inner joy, strength, and light. Through mindfulness-focused mental health coaching, meditation, and breathwork, I guide people back to themselves—helping them cultivate emotional resilience, inner balance, and a deeper sense of peace. I offer a heart-led alternative to traditional therapy, creating a space where healing feels safe, empowering, and deeply human.
My vision is a world where every person remembers their own power, worthiness, and capacity to feel whole. A world where mindfulness is woven into everyday life, where people feel connected to themselves, grounded in their truth, and supported in their growth. I envision Minds Matter with Melissa as a place where individuals transform from the inside out—one breath, one moment of awareness, one shift in perspective at a time.
